TRAILER REVIEW OF RUM VODKA WHISKY

Fresh, Unique and Daring are the words that comes to mind after watching the trailer of 'RUM VODKA WHISKY'. The glimpses of the cinematography (by Papu Deka) that we get to see exudes freshness and a youthful perspective. The overall trailer looks and sounds progressive with reference to everyday lives; dreams, aspirations and the unpredictability of life itself. The characters are very relatable as they are flawed - alcoholic, broken in love and grappling with lustful desires. In an attempt to maintain a cosmopolitan outlook the trailer showcases dialogues in both English and Assamese and the songs are in Assamese, Hindi and Bengali. It's a smart decision because what we are lacking in Assamese cinema right now is inclusivity.

Directed by Prasant Saikia the cast comprises of veteran talents of the past and new upcoming talents thus bringing together an eclectic group of actors who looks and acts natural, a rare phenomenon in regional cinema all over. A special mention to Udayan Duarah who is easily the actor of the year. He won many hearts at the beginning of the year with his feel good performance in 'Dur' and most recently in 'Gangs of Northeast'. In 'RUM VODKA WHISKY' his character almost resembles his personal life - a young actor passionate about his job.

The film recently had a high profile music launch which was attended by the who's who of the Assamese film industry and media personnel. With an aggressive promotional strategy and support from the millennials, there's no reason as to why it shouldn't work at the box office. 'RUM VODKA WHISKY' releases on October 13. Get ready to be intoxicated this Diwali. Good luck to the entire team from PASSIONATE MOVIE LOVERS.
